Is it time to rethink your portfolio structure?

I think it’s time to take a step back from the typical portfolio structure. You know… the one where the home page is mostly a grid of cards that all point to individual case studies 👀

Here's what I'd do instead of this 👇

Instead of settling for individual project thumbnails and burying the bulk of our work on nested pages…

What if your home page was your sizzle reel?

Then you could showcase all of your best UI, accomplishments, prototypes, etc. all in one place 👇

Project pages fragment your story. Putting all of your best work on one page allows you to present a single compelling narrative about yourself. To be clear, I'm not saying to ditch project pages altogether…

...but perhaps it’s worth thinking of them as an appendix instead of the primary way people consume your work. Food for thought 🤔

If you’re interested in more portfolio strategies, Yuan and I talk about this concept and a lot more in this Deep Dive 👇
