Kyle Zantos’s design engineering skill

Designer + Builder

Recently Kyle Zantos showed us how he trained a UI motion design skill in the Designer’s Toolkit for Claude Code episode.

It’s basically a way to audit your animations through the eyes of three of his favorite design engineers.

It’s genius so I asked him if he’d be open to sharing the skill publicly and he agreed 👇

Kyle's Design Engineering Skill

Recently I shared a UI motion design skill in the Designer’s Toolkit for Claude Code episode. Basically a way to audit your animations through the eyes of three designers I really admire. It landed harder than I expected.

A bunch of people have pinged me about how they're using it to push past "fine" design and actually dial in their own taste. Super exciting to see people’s inspiration get sparked.

The way I built it was by having Claude study Emil Kowalski's restraint, Jakub Krehel's polish, and Jhey Tompkins' playful experimentation. That way I can audit my UI through all three lenses at once.

It’s not a tool to replace your judgement & taste. Far from it. It's intended to give you perspectives from people you respect like they’re in the room with you.

👉 Here’s the link if you want to try it for yourself.

See what happens when your AI starts seeing through eyes you actually care about.
